Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes hits back at ‘April Fool’s journalism’ as he’s linked with move to Barcelona

BRUNO FERNANDES has sensationally denied any talk of a January move to Barcelona – hitting back at the Portuguese press as well.

Fernandes, 27, has refuted the transfer gossip, comparing it to an April Fool’s Day joke on social media.

On Instagram, the Manchester United playmaker slammed a rumour by the Portuguese media outlet, SPORT TV.

In response to a post linking him with the Catalan giants, Fernandes hit back.

He mocked; “And I thought the new year only started a few days ago, yet we’re already on April 1!

“Or is this once again just bad journalism?”

But SPORT TV aren’t the only ones suggesting a move to Barca for the Portugal international.

El Nacional reported that if Barca fail to land Erling Haaland, then Fernandes is their next top target.

Fernandes was called out by Gary Neville for running straight down the tunnel following a lacklustre draw with Newcastle before the turn of the year.

Neville blasted: “You can’t run off at the end of a game.

“Bruno is whinging all the time.”

And United legend Andrew Cole, said Fernandes ‘hasn’t been the same player’ since Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Manchester last summer.
