Hoffenheim starlet Sule, 21, rejected advances to stay with Bundesliga club but player's agent and father claim that a move will soon be on the cards again

CHELSEA and Liverpool targeted £25million raids for Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule this summer.

And the Germany international's agent and father both claim that the English giants are set to pounce again.

The Premier League duo made approaches for the 21-year-old earlier in the summer as they looked to strengthen their leaky backlines ahead of mounting title assaults.

But Sule rejected their advances to continue his development at Hoffenheim, where he is tied down until 2019.

His agent has confirmed Chelsea and Liverpool's interest and believes that they make another move soon enough.

Karlheinz Forster confirmed: "Yes, the interest was there.

"The English have made it clear that their interest next year is valid."

Sule was part of Germany's team that lost the Olympic final to hosts Brazil, before winning his first full cap for the world champions in a friendly win over Finland last week.

The six-foot-three-inch centre-back is now into his third season as an established player with Hoffenheim, having made his Bundesliga debut aged 17.

Sule has spoken of his desire to continue his development with Hoffenheim.

But his father says he will go on to bigger things and has opened the door to a departure in the near future.

Georg Sule has said: "I think we should first go to a big club, if you are a great player.

"Niklas could earn more, but we do not look out for quick money, but for his career.

"If Niklas develops well, the money will come."

Earlier this summer, the player said: "I need my familiar environment and to be constantly playing at my level even further".

Chelsea failed to secure two of their other main central-back targets - Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli - before turning their attentions to PSG's David Luiz.

Liverpool signed Estonia skipper Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip on a free to plug the gap left at Anfield by Slovakian stamper Martin Skrtel and released Kolo Toure.
