Zlatan Ibrahimovic could join list of Manchester derby greats like Sergio Aguero, Robin van Persie and Marcus Rashford with debut goal
Swede has netted in every first appearance of local clash — but could he become 15th to do it on Prem Manchester derby bow?
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC will be looking to add his name to a list of greats if he nets on his Manchester derby debut.
The Swede has so far managed to score every time he has tasted local rivalry for the first time.
And this will be first sample of Manchester’s biggest tussle.
Ibrahimovic would become the 15th player to score in his first United-City clash.
So who are the others?
SunSport looks back at the list of names which will amaze and shock you in equal measure.
Roy Keane — City 2 United 3, 1993-94
Niall Quinn’s first-half double appeared to set the home side on their way to a first Premier League derby victory.
But Eric Cantona hit back to twice after the interval to bring United level.
And Keane netted the winner three minutes from time to clinch a memorable derby win.
Andy Cole — City 0 United 3, 1994-95
United were well and truly top dogs in Manchester throughout the 90s.
The Red Devils were unbeaten against their local rivals throughout the entire decade.
Cole was Britain’s most-expensive player when he netted the third at Maine Road.
Mikheil Kavelashvili — City 2 United 3, 1995-96
City actually had two Georgians on the field — but it was the lesser known one who got on the scoresheet.
Georgi Kinkladze had been making the headlines with some fine displays.
Howeverm Kavelashvili netted City's second equaliser on his actual debut for the club at Maine Road on the way to another derby defeat.
Ryan Giggs' late screamer clinched the points for United.
Nicolas Anelka — City 3 United 1, 2002-03
Relegations for City meant there had only been two Manchester derbies since 1996.
Led by Kevin Keegan, the blue half of the city were determined to end the rot and win the final local clash at Maine Road.
Shaun Goater netted twice, with Anelka’s goal in between adding his name to this list.
Jon Macken — City 4 United 1, 2003-04
City wins over United were now commonplace.
So much so that even the likes of Macken got in on the act.
The current Bamber Bridge striker put City 2-0 up after Robbie Fowler had opened the scoring.

The Tunisian only scored once in his City career — and it was an absolute cracker.
United were leading through goals from Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha before Trabelsi’s thunderbolt gave the away side some hope.
But Cristiano Ronaldo clinched it late on.
Geovanni — City 1 United 0, 2007-08
Thaksin Shinawatra had taken over City and brought in a host of stars.
One of those — Geovanni — netted the only goal as City won a home derby for the third time in five seasons.
It also meant Sven-Goran Eriksson overcame Sir Alex Ferguson.
Benjani — United 1 City 2, 2007-08
City claimed their first double over United for 38 years with victory on the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.
Vassell had already opened the scoring before new signing, Benjani, made it two with the use of his shoulder.
He did little else in his City career, but remains an icon with supporters.
Gareth Barry, Craig Bellamy, Michael Owen — United 4 City 3, 2009-10
It was the most highly-anticipated clash in Premier League history with Carlos Tevez returning to Old Trafford.
Barry levelled after Rooney’s opener and Bellamy hit back both times after Darren Fletcher’s brace twice gave United the lead — the Welshman’s second coming in stoppage time.
But six minutes later, Owen popped up to clinch one of the Premier League’s classic clashes.
Sergio Aguero — United 1 City 6, 2011-12
It’s difficult to find a more memorable scoreline in Premier League history.
Jonny Evans’ sending off gave United a mountain to climb.
Doubles from Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko were the talking points — but Aguero netted the first of his seven derby goals in his first-ever appearance.
Robin van Persie — City 2 United 3, 2012-13
Another classic, and another late, late show.
Rooney’s double was cancelled out by goals from Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta.
Only for Van Persie to win the game with a stoppage-time free-kick.
Marcus Rashford — City 0 United 1, 2015-16
The Red Devils had failed to win at the Etihad since Van Persie’s winner.
But that run came to an end when the man-of-the-moment got in on the act.
Just a few weeks earlier, Rashford would have had no hope of starting the derby.
But he led the line and struck the only goal of the game.
