Ipswich whizkid Tyreece Simpson at centre of transfer tug-of-war between Cardiff, Hull and Barnsley
TEENAGE whizkid Tyreece Simpson is at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war.
The 19-year-old Ipswich striker is being chased by Championship trio Cardiff, Hull and Barnsley.
Ipswich recalled Simpson from a successful loan spell at Swindon last week.
But Swindon boss Ben Garner claims the East Anglian League One club want him to sign a new deal before they will allow him to return.
Garner revealed: “Tyreece was called back by Ipswich for contractual reasons – they want him to agree a new deal there and if he does he will be allowed back out on loan.
“Unless a new deal can be agreed between Tyreece and Ipswich pretty soon, he’ll be staying there for the remainder of the season.
"It’s out of our hands.”
Simpson, who scored 11 goals in 30 appearances at Swindon, is also being monitored by League Two clubs Northampton and Orient.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna admitted it wasn’t his decision to recall Simpson, revealing “It’s a contractual issue with the club.”
The Tractor Boys currently sit ninth in League One, eight points off a play-off spot.
Ipswich have lost just two of their last eight games in the third tier as they look to mount a push up the table.
But a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday saw The Owls leapfrog them.
