CHELSEA have rejected Huddersfield's loan bid for starlet Harvey Vale, according to reports.
The Championship side wanted to borrow the talented midfielder for the second half of the season.
Thomas Tuchel's side have seen Vale's fellow young prospect Levi Colwell thrive with the Terriers this term.
But according to , Tuchel wants to keep him around to fight for his place.
The German handed Vale his senior Blues debut in the League Cup victory over Brentford in December.
He has since handed the 18-year-old further cameo appearances against Tottenham and Chesterfield.
Vale could feature against League One side Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup this weekend.
And he has a chance of being included in Tuchel's travelling squad for the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi next month.

Vale's Chelsea contract is set to expire at the end of next season, with talks over an extension well underway.
Huddersfield have now turned to Vale's fellow Blues wonderkid Tino Anjorin.
The midfielder, who featured in the Blues first-team under Frank Lampard, had his loan at Lokomotiv Moscow cut short earlier this month.
Chelsea are now hoping to see him get regular game time with the Terriers in the Championship.
