ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN admits he could reject the chance to link up with Antonio Conte at Chelsea next summer.
The highly-rated young defender is currently out on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, having joined on a two-year deal in 2014.
Christensen beat now-Arsenal star Granit Xhaka to the club’s Player of the Year award last season, and Gladbach revealed they were planning on making the Dane their record signing.
But Chelsea knocked back a £14million bid from the Bundesliga outfit in July, and Blues boss Conte reportedly wants Christensen to feature in his squad once the loan deal ends.
Chelsea miss out on a number of centre-backs in the recent transfer window, with Napoli ace Kalidou Koulibaly and AC Milan prodigy Alessio Romagnoli both high-profile targets for Conte.
The Italian gaffer eventually settled on a deadline day swoop for ex-Blue David Luiz, who cost £30m to re-sign from Paris Saint-Germain.

But Christensen has given Conte another headache after revealing he won’t make a decision on his future until the end of the new campaign.
The 20-year-old has been touted as John Terry’s long-term successor, but Chelsea could be forced to splash out again next year if he decides to remain in Germany.
Christensen told : “I have not decided yet. I’m not going to do it at the moment. When it comes to me, I’ll decide next summer.
“For me, both things are possible (staying or leaving). I don’t want to be distracted, and I can’t decide alone. The question is if the clubs can agree a fee.”
