LEEDS rejected the chance to sign both Donny van de Beek and Harry Winks in January, reports say.

The Elland Road club were said to be offered both the Man Utd and Tottenham midfielders last month.

But the report neither player matched Marcelo Bielsa's standards.

The report added that Bielsa didn't want to sign players unless they were a marked improvement on his current ones.

And the Argentine boss only likes to work with a squad of 18 players with youngsters bolstering numbers.

Man Utd outcast Van de Beek moved to Everton on loan until the end of the season in a bid to revive his career.

Van de Beek, 24, joined the Red Devils from Ajax in a £39million deal in 2020 - but has started just FOUR Premier League games since.

The midfielder will now link up with new Toffees boss Frank Lampard on Merseyside.

On his move, a thrilled Van de Beek revealed: “Now I can say I am an Everton player, I am really happy and can’t wait to help the team.

“I think it is a great club… there are really good players here and I came because I want to help them go up the table.

“I hope to bring my football qualities, my passing, and, of course, scoring goals.

"It is a big part of my game to score and give assists and I will try to do that again."

Winks, meanwhile, reportedly wanted a move away from Spurs in January after a stuttering career.

But the 25-year-old has been part of Antonio Conte's plans and wants to force his way into the England World Cup squad after missing out on last summer's Euros.
