Man Utd want to hire someone to polish their trophies in club museum but ideal candidate must have a degree
MANCHESTER UNITED chiefs want someone to polish their trophies – but they must have a degree.
And Old Trafford top brass also want the candidate to have a post-graduate qualification as well as being a dab hand with a duster.
The Prem giants are looking to recruit someone in the Old Trafford museum - where they house replicas of the Champions League and Premier League trophies.
And the curatorial assistant must also be a whiz at putting items in boxes in “suitable packaging”.
Would-be museum staff are told by the club that the job will “provide essential support assisting with the organisation of the Museum’s exhibition program along with cleaning and redisplaying the permanent displays which will be major parts of the job role”.
The ad continues: “Tasks will include assisting with the creation of displays, collection management and dealing with public enquiries.
“The right candidate will ideally have a museum qualification and practical experience with exhibition work.”
And tasks include: “Cleaning, photographing and redisplaying items in the Museum.

“Repacking of items from the Museum collection in suitable packaging. Assist in the Museum’s response to enquiries via email, phone and in person.
“Should be prepared to talk to the public about the Museum’s collections. This could be to any audience and may be in conjunction with the Museum’s Learning team or Stadium Tour Guides.”
Manchester United have won 20 league titles, more than any other English team, and three European Cups.
But their last Premier League title came in 2013 and they've only captured the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
The ideal person will be educated to “degree level with a postgraduate qualification in Museum Studies, or equivalent is desirable”.
Plus, an “interest in football and football history would be an advantage”.
