AARON RAMSEY is out of the squad for tomorrow night's Europa League crunch between Rangers and Borussia Dortmund.

The on-loan Welsh international missed the weekend clash against Dundee United with a calf problem.

And he will play no part tomorrow night either, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed at the pre-match press conference.

He said the Gers have no new injuries although Leon Balogun - who also missed the Tannadice clash - is fit to return.

The Ibrox men hold a 4-2 first leg lead from the first leg in Germany, but know an early goal could make for a nervy second leg.

Van Bronckhorst said: "Ramsey won't be in the squad for tomorrow, but no other fresh injury news."

One problem Balogun and Rangers won't have to deal with is Dortmund's superstar Erling Haaland.

The Norway striker returned to training yesterday but isn't deemed fit enough to play and hasn't travelled for Marco Rose's side.

It's a difficult tactical conundrum for Van Bronckhorst - with the two-goal lead to defend against such a dangerous opponent in front of 50,000 fans who will urge the team forward.

Balogun said: "I always want to compete against the best strikers but Dortmund have enough quality in the full team."

The Dutchman said there was no question of his side sitting deep now.

He said: "We played to our strengths and pressed in the right moments.

"It will be a very exciting game and one you want to play. To begin the game and sit deep, I don't think that's in our system.

"With the backing of our fans tomorrow we want another beautiful European night at Ibrox as we aim to get into the next round.
