Liverpool join Tottenham in chase for £15million Argentine hitman Lucas Alario
Classy River Plate striker who 'dreams to play in Europe' also finds himself wanted by Inter Milan and Torino
LIVERPOOL and Tottenham are involved in a tug-of-war over River Plate striker Lucas Alario.
The Premier League giants are ready to go head-to-head for the Argentinian, who carries a £15.2 million release clause.
Liverpool are believed to have had a previous bid of £8.5m rejected but are ready to go again, while Spurs have also shown interest in the past.
There is competition, though. For Alario, 23, is also wanted by Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Torino.
And any deal for Alario is likely to be complicated one as third-party ownership issues need to be resolved before the hitman could move on.

However, who made his international debut this year, Alario is keen to play in the Premier League.
He said: "Like every player, I dream to play in Europe at some point in my career.
"For that, first I have to make things right at River, to keep growing and learning."
Alario could be quite a catch. He's mobile, intelligent, good in the air and a classy finisher.
He can play on the last shoulder of his marker, as well as with his back to goal as a target man who links with others - the type of complete striker Reds manager Jurgen Klopp needs to make his high-energy pressing and combination passing click on a more consistent basis in the final third.
