CHAMPIONSHIP leaders Huddersfield saw their lead at the top reduced to a point after suffering defeat at Brighton on Tuesday.

Dave Wagner’s side were frustrated by the Seagulls and were beaten late on thanks to Anthony Knockaert’s late strike from distance, which slipped through the fingers of visiting keeper Danny Ward.

Newcastle’s 6-0 win at QPR and Barnsley’s 4-0 romp at Wolves, courtesy of goals from Conor Hourihane, Adam Hammill, Saidy Janko and Tom Bradshaw, moved both victors to within a point of top spot.

Jacob Murphy struck twice to secure Norwich a 2-1 home win over Wigan, who set up a nervy finish after Jordi Gomez pulled a goal back late on.

Sheffield Wednesday came from two-down to claim a point at home to Bristol City.
