Watch Edouard Mendy make ‘best double save ever’ as he somehow stop Liverpool star Mane from scoring against Chelsea
CHELSEA goalkeeper Edouard Mendy pulled off an outrageous double save against Liverpool to deny Naby Keita and Sadio Mane in the Carabao Cup final.
The Senegalese shot-stopper has sent social media into meltdown after he somehow prevented the Reds from breaking the deadlock in the 30th minute.
Mendy got down low to palm away Keita's low effort from outside the box after he was picked out by Mane.
The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations winner then got up quickly to deny his compatriot from tapping home the rebound.
It looked as though Mane would open the scoring from six yards out only for Mendy to tip the ball over the bar in extraordinary fashion.
Speaking on Sky Sports commentary, Gary Neville said: "I can't believe Mendy got across to that!"
His Liverpool supporting colleague Jamie Carragher added: "I wish Kepa [Arrizabalaga] had been playing! What a save this is from Mendy.
"This is the biggest chance of the game. Mane has to score but you have to give so much credit to the goalkeeper. Absolutely fantastic."

Meanwhile Gary Lineker tweeted: "What a superb double save from Mendy."
And former Liverpool goalkeeper David James said: "Just seen the replay of Mendy double save, wow! Top draw goal tending!";
Fans were also left in disbelief by his heroic stops, as one user posted: "BEST DOUBLE SAVE EVER. Wow!!! That’s why you play your best players."
Another commented: "That Mendy double save. Superhuman activity from the current best goalkeeper in the world."
