Borussia Monchengladbach to reimburse tickets for fans after postponed clash with Manchester City at the Etihad
The Bundesliga side make classy gesture to their travelling supporters as plenty cannot attend the rearranged fixture
BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH will reimburse all tickets for their travelling supporters following their postponed Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Fans who bought tickets for the match at the Etihad will be entitled to their money back regardless as to whether or not they can make tonight's rearranged fixture.
The Monchengladbach faithful were left in limbo as they already have arranged flights back to Germany and would potentially have to organise another night in a hotel and try get an extra day off work.
With their supporters' tough situation aside, the German side were left angry with City's demands surrounding the rescheduling of the match, after the turf at the Etihad was flooded in a flash storm.
Gladbach wanted the kick off time to be earlier, so they could fly straight back to Germany, but the Premier League side held out to maintain the 7:45pm kick off time.
City's reason behind rejecting their wish of an earlier start was that they could not round up enough stewards for a 6pm kick off.

City attempted to sweeten the deal for their opposition by offering them a night in the hotel at their Etihad Campus.
But this proposal was rejected and Gladbach’s head of media and communication Markus Aretz reiterated the fact a hotel was not club's the issue.
He said: “For sporting reasons we wanted to play the match earlier, then fly back to Germany.
“That was important to us but City couldn’t make that possible.
“I think there were security reasons. We’re not happy with that — but that’s it.”
Despite the news of the game being postponed, the Gladbach players stood in front of the travelling fans and applauded in appreciation of their supporters, in what was a pleasing moment on a miserable evening.
The players repaid the fans' faith after the supporters chanted in the hammering rain, with the knowledge their plans for the night had been ruined.
