Gerrard posted an image on Instagram of him watching the game in the United States.

It was only Henderson's 20th Premier League goal for the club since his arrival in 2011, but he will not have scored any better.

And it was not only Kop boss Jurgen Klopp who was left dumbfounded and delirious by the strike.

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, who has played and managed Liverpool, said: "This is a great finish.

"He sends it up and wide and Courtois stands no chance."

And Twitter also exploded into life after the England international's effort.
