FA Cup draw: Man City face Liverpool twice in a week after Premier League showdown with Chelsea taking on Palace

JURGEN KLOPP saw Liverpool keep their Quadruple chase alive — and now faces a two-match blockbuster week against Manchester City.

Diogo Jota grabbed a 78th-minute winner to set up the FA Cup semi-final against Pep Guardiola’s side at Wembley on April 16.

And the two Premier League rivals — with City chasing the Treble after their quarter-final win over Southampton — also face each other at the Etihad for a potential title decider on April 10.

Klopp said: “We knew before the game that City would be the opponent if we wanted to go to the final anyway — and here we go.

“City don’t like it too much, we don’t like that too much.

“But the closer it gets to the end, the more likely that you will face City. If you don’t face them earlier you will face them in any kind of semi-final or final.

“That’s normal. The same with Chelsea pretty much.

“You don’t want to play against them every week because they are really strong as well. I don’t think it is a pure joy to play us and that’s what we should not forget.

“We have Watford, Benfica, City, Benfica, City, United and Everton.

“From a Liverpool perspective, we have to play them once at a time and not all together.”

Klopp also urged football’s authorities to find a solution to the fact engineering works mean no trains are running from the north-west to London on semi-final weekend.

Chelsea face a capital clash with Crystal Palace in the other last-four tie.

The Liverpool boss added: “Four days? Cut off from the north? It won’t be the first time. I hope they can find the solution before then.”
