Arsenal star Bukayo Saka set to miss England friendly against Switzerland after suffering from mystery illness

BUKAYO SAKA is set to miss England’s friendly with Switzerland on Saturday.

The Arsenal forward, 20, has been suffering from a mystery illness and is a major doubt for the Wembley clash.

But the startlet hopes to be fit for the Three Lions’ game with Ivory Coast on Tuesday evening.

Saka did not train on Wednesday and was told to stay in his hotel room — although he tested negative for Covid upon arrival at England's base camp.

But he must now wait to discover the results of a second round of tests before a decision is made.

Gareth Southgate has seen another player withdraw from the squad for their friendly against Switzerland in Sam Johnstone, who was in line to stand in for the absent Aaron Ramsdale.

The West Brom goalkeeper will be replaced by Southampton shot-stopper Fraser Forster.

Forster, 34, hasn't played for England since May 2016, but has been in good form for the Saints this season.

He has played 12 consecutive matches since Boxing Day.

Reece James, Ramsdale and Trent Alexander-Arnold all haven't reported for international duty.

Roma record-breaking goal scorer Tammy Abraham won't be involved in the friendlies either.

Tyrick Mitchell, Kyle Walker-Peters and Ollie Watkins have all been given a chance to shine in their place.

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has also been handed a first senior international call-up.

The South London club have three players involved with the England set-up this international window.
