Joe Hart keeps his first clean sheet for Torino since joining on loan from Manchester City but they can’t find the net at the other end
England goalkeeper impresses on his home debut for Serie A side during stalemate with Empoli
JOE HART kept his first clean sheet for Torino as his new side were held to a goalless draw by Empoli.
The England international, who could lose his sponsorship deal with Head and Shoulders, was making his home bow for the Serie A side after joining them on loan from Manchester City last month.
After being criticised for spilling a cross on his debut last weekend, Hart will be delighted to record his first shutout since his arrival in Turin.
It was not all plain sailing for the 29-year-old, however, as he sent a backpass straight out for a throw while trying to find left-back Cristiano Molinaro on 21 minutes.
His footwork and distribution were supposedly the reason for Pep Guardiola dumping him as City’s No1, leading to him replacing Hart with Claudio Bravo from Barcelona.
Empoli’s Manuel Pucciarelli raced onto a throughball to find himself one-on-one with the keeper, but Hart came out confidently to block and clear the danger.
The stalemate leaves both sides with four points from their opening four league matches.
