ARSENAL have reportedly made contact with Lautaro Martinez's agent with Inter Milan prepared to sell the striker in a cut-price deal.
The Gunners were linked with a move to bring the 24-year-old to the Emirates last year, with the club prepared to offer him a £275,000-a-week deal.
But the potential switch failed to materialise, with the Argentina international eventually penning a long-term contract at the San Siro until 2026.
However they have retained their interest in the player, who could be on his way out of Italy at the end of the season.
Mikel Arteta has made signing a centre-forward his top priority after allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona in the winter transfer window.
Meanwhile Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are set to depart when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

And according to , Arsenal have spoken to Martinez's representatives with the player facing an uncertain future.
It has been claimed that Martinez could be sold should Inter manage to sign Paulo Dybala on a free transfer when his contract at Juventus expires.
The news outlet states that Simone Inzaghi's side would part ways with their prized asset should they receive a fee in the region of £58million.
Though it has been said that Arsenal face competition from Atletico Madrid in the race to nab Martinez.

Tottenham have also been linked with the ex-Racing Club ace as a potential replacement for Harry Kane should the Spurs marksman leave.
Prior to the recent Calciomercato report, Martinez's agent declared that his client is happy in Italy.
Speaking earlier this month, Alejandro Camano remarked: "He is staying at Inter.
"Lautaro has a five-year contract with Inter, he feels like an Interista.
"Inter are the team in his heart. He feels like an extra fan on the pitch. His family is also very happy in Milan.
"I can say with certainty: there is no possibility that Lautaro will leave Inter. He cares so much about winning with this club."
