Chelsea transfer news: Thorgan Hazard could be heading back to Stamford Bridge thanks to bargain clause

Eden's brother has hit six goals for Gladbach this season and Blues can re-sign him for £12.8m before January

CHELSEA are interested in re-signing Thorgan Hazard from Borussia Monchengladbach, according to reports.

The brother of Blues star Eden was sold to the German side in 2015, but has made a spectacular start to the season.

Hazard has struck six goals in seven games after being moved into a central attacking position, and Chelsea are able to bring him back to Stamford Bridge for £12.8million next summer thanks to a buyback clause.

Newspaper claims Blues scouts will be in attendance for Gladbach’s trip to RB Leipzig on Wednesday, and Antonio Conte has until December 31 to exercise the clause.

Hazard put in a man-of-the-match performance at the weekend after scoring a brace in a 4-1 win over Werder Bremen, and also hit a hat-trick in a Champions League qualifier against Young Boys.

The Belgian ace was unable to pull the strings in last week’s defeat to Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola was overheard admitting his interest in the playmaker after the match.

However, Hazard appears to keen to remain at Gladbach alongside Chelsea loanee Andreas Christensen, and insists he is only thinking about his performances on the pitch.

Hazard said: “I signed a contract here because I want to play here. I’m not wasting a single thought on Chelsea, I’m totally focused on my job here which is helping Gladbach with my goals.

“I play up front a bit more and also in a more central position. It’s normal I score more goals.”
