LEICESTER boss Claudio Ranieri insists too much pressure should not be heaped upon Islam Slimani after his goalscoring Premier League debut.
The Algerian striker is the Foxes’ record signing after joining for £30million from Sporting Lisbon this summer.
And he became an instant hit with fans as he marked his first league match by firing in two goals in the space of four minutes during Saturday’s 3-0 win over Burnley.
Despite the 28-year-old’s explosive start, his Leicester manager urged supporters not to expect that form every week as his new man adapts to life in England.
Ranieri said: "Of course it is important he showed his characteristics and he made a very good performance.

"It is important that he scored but I do not want to put him under pressure because it is not important for me.
"The goal is the consequence of the match, of the hard work of everybody.
"I signed him because we needed another player as well. Leonardo Ulloa is another big striker, good in the air, who presses well and links well.
"For this reason we spent a lot of money on Slimani, and of course he is a scorer.
"But he is not only a goalscorer. Also when he doesn't score, or will not score, it is okay because he is a hard worker."
