Amused fans hailed the former keeper for trolling himself - having been torn apart by others following the costly 1-1 group opener.
Green posted a pair-of-eyes emoji to reflect the way he watched Clint Dempsey's low 25-yarder squirm in off his palms for a shock equaliser.

But Green made no excuses as he said after the stalemate: "I walked in at half-time and said sorry to the chaps and I apologise to however many million people at home as well.
