Jack Wilshere: Bournemouth midfielder on loan from Arsenal to be rested for EFL Cup tie
The Cherries take on Preston in the EFL Cup third round on Tuesday night- but on loan Gunner will play no part
JACK WILSHERE will be rested when Bournemouth host Preston in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
Wilshere’s season-long loan from Arsenal, and Jordon Ibe’s £15million arrival, have put the Cherries in the spotlight.
But Charlie Daniels has urged boss Eddie Howe not to forget the stalwarts.
The defender, a survivor from the League Two days, said: “Those players have been integral and a massive part in getting this club to where it is.
“We should never lose sight of what they did.”
Benik Afobe, Max Gradel and Adam Federici should all be brought on Tuesday night.
Wilshere endured a woeful first start for the Cherries last Saturday. He struggled in the 4-0 defeat by Manchester City, in which he gave the ball away and then conceded the free-kick that led to City's opening goal by Kevin De Bruyne.
