And he’s now set to be out of both Arsenal's push for a Champions League place PLUS Scotland’s crunch World Cup play-off semi-final against Ukraine in June - and the possible final against Wales.

Steve Clarke’s men also have four Nations League ties in a crammed month of fixtures.

Ex-Celtic hero Tierney – who played the 90 minutes of both of Scotland’s friendlies against Poland and Austria - was a shock absentee for Arsenal’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

And boss Mikel Arteta said: “He came back from international duty and felt something wrong in his knee.

"There is some damage there. We will hopefully know more on Tuesday but not looking good."

Tierney’s absence would be a hammer blow for Clarke – with the former Celtic idol a first pick.

The defender netted against the Poles and is a vital player for the Scots.

But his loss would also be massive for Arteta as they fight for a top four spot.

Meanwhile, Tierney's former team-mate Callum McGregor reckons Celtic 'ticked off' another game in their bid to win the Premiership title.

The Hoops skipper picked up his first Ibrox triumph as captain and dealt a huge blow to Giovanni van Bronckhorst's fading champions, who now sit six points behind Ange Postecoglou's side - with just six games to play.

He said: "We just need to continue to work hard, stay humble and continue to do what the manager is asking us to do.

"And we need to tick the games off one at a time.

"It was a huge effort. To go a goal down so early in the game but then recover.

"We got ourselves level and then to go in 2-1 at half-time was superb, and probably just what we need in the game.

"We don't come of fit, we will come back in tomorrow, we will work hard and we will now look forward to the weekend as well."
