MARIO BALOTELLI’S revival continues after the Liverpool flop struck twice for Nice in a 4-0 win over Monaco.

The Italian misfit is looking to rebuild his reputation after a dismal time at Anfield, scoring just one league goal before repeating the unimpressive feat during a loan spell at AC Milan.

Jurgen Klopp did not hesitate to sanction a free transfer to Ligue 1 on deadline day, but it’s starting to look like a savvy piece of business for Nice.

The French outfit resurrected Hatem Ben Arfa’s career after he failed to make the grade at Newcastle and Hull, and it appears Balotelli is heading in the same direction.

The 26-year-old now has four goals in his first two games, finding the back of the net every 42 minutes on average.

Balotelli has also hit two goals in back-to-back matches for the first time in his career, but he could have had a hat-trick against Monaco this evening.

The ex-Manchester City man was substituted in the 78th minute before Nice were awarded a late penalty – although they missed the chance to make it 5-0 on the night.

Reports claim Liverpool inserted a secret clause which entitles them to 30 per cent of his next transfer fee.

And the Reds could be receiving a tasty chunk if Balotelli continues to impress, with predecessor Ben Arfa earning a shock move to European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain during the summer – albeit for free.
