Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge parks just metres from ex-Reds star Steve Finnan’s namesake as he pops in to local Sainsbury’s
England international can be seen looking moody as he makes his way back to supercar after food run
DANIEL STURRIDGE parked just metres from ex-Liverpool star Steve Finnan's namesake as he popped into his local shop.
The £120,000-a-week Reds striker rocked up to Sainsbury's to complete a food run in his white, £235,000 Rolls Royce in Hale Village, Cheshire on Wednesday evening.
And just down the road was a van baring an almost identical name to that of Irishman Finnan, who won the Champions League and made 145 appearances for Liverpool between 2003 and 2008.
However, so as not to be confused, the vehicle was spelt 'Steve Finan', and deals in 'mobile mechanics' - something the former Anfield defender has never expressed an interest in.
Finnan, now 40, retired from professional football in 2010 after spells at Espanyol and Portsmouth, and now works in property development.
But he raised concerns over his whereabouts last May when organisers of the ten-year anniversary for Liverpool's Champions League winning squad could not get in contact with him.
He was the only member of the squad who could not be reached.
After investigative work and the Twitter hashtag '#FindSteveFinnan', he was found living in London and confirmed he was "safe and well".
Sturridge, wearing a patterned jumper, dark jeans, cap and trainers, looked moody as he returned to his flash car.
He did not travel with Jurgen Klopp's side for Tuesday's EFL Cup win over Derby.
The England striker, 27, played just four days before the Cup clash in the 2-1 Premier League win away to Chelsea.

Concerns had arisen that Sturridge was crocked after he was substituted for Divock Origi in the second half at Stamford Bridge.
But Klopp played down any talk of a fresh KO for the injury-prone forward.
He said: "I couldn't see that he could sprint anymore, so that's why we had to change. We had a healthy, young striker on the bench. That's all. The first half was really good – really good – from Daniel.
"We need this player there in the centre who we can play with and if there's a ball behind the line sometimes, so that we can go there and can push up in the last line. I don't think there is an injury, it is only the situation."
Sturridge missed the start of the season as he returned to fitness following a hip injury.
But he appears to have convinced Klopp he is worth a place in his starting XI after being picked to start against Leicester and Chelsea in Liverpool's last two Prem games.
