Serie A roundup: Joe Hart was on top form while Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain were both among the goals in Italy

On-loan Manchester City goalkeeper help nine-man Torino to draw — while goal scorers are well and truly back in Serie A

JOE HART was the hero on his third Torino appearance as he kept Pescara at bay to draw 0-0 — despite his side being down to nine men.

The on-loan Manchester City goalkeeper endured a difficult start to his Serie A career but was widely praised by the Italian press following a “heroic” display.

Meanwhile, just down the road, Juventus recovered from their defeat to Inter Milan by hammering Cagliari 4-0.

Gonzalo Higuain was handed just his second league start for his new club and — just like the last time against Sassuolo — found the back of the net.

Summer signing, Dani Alves, also scored his first goal for the club.

Serie A’s star man so far this season, Mauro Icardi, continued his sensational start with another brace as Inter beat Empoli 2-0.

The Argentine has scored six of his side’s seven goals today — including the equaliser against Juventus at the weekend.

AC Milan won a second match on the spin as they quietly went go about their business.

Carlos Bacca — who also started the season in wonderful form — was on target again as the Rossoneri beat Lazio 2-0.

The result lifts Vincenzo Montella’s men to sixth place with three wins and two defeats from their opening five games.

Roma also bounced back from a disappointing defeat at the weekend with a convincing win over Serie A debutants, Crotone.

Stephan El Shaarawy, Mohamed Salah and an Edin Dzeko brace completed a 4-0 victory which moved Luciano Spalletti’s men up to third place.

Just five days before his 40th birthday, Francesco Totti played 90 minutes and assisted Dzeko’s first.

Napoli, who remain the only unbeaten side in Serie A, slumped to a 0-0 draw at Genoa but remain second.

Chievo are this season’s surprise package. They started the campaign with a 2-0 win over Inter and last night’s victory over Sassulo lifted them up to fourth place.

Champions League outsiders, Fiorentina, failed to build on their weekend win over Roma after they drew 2-2 at Udinese.

Atalana’s 1-0 loss at home to Palermo means the only points they have picked up this season were against Hart’s Torino.

While Bologna beat Sampdoria 2-0 in Serie A’s other match.
