Kevin de Bruyne set to miss Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Celtic after sustaining injury
KEVIN DE BRUYNE is set to miss the Battle of Britain clash with Celtic after limping out of Manchester City’s 3-1 win at Swansea.
The £56million Belgian international will undergo a scan today after going down in the 81st minute of City’s tenth straight win of the season.
And manager Pep Guardiola is not optimistic of having his star forward available for Wednesday’s Champions League trip to Glasgow.
Guardiola said: “I think De Bruyne is injured. From the way he reacted, I think it’s a muscular injury.
“I don’t know how serious it is. I am not a doctor. Tonight we travel back to Manchester City and tomorrow the doctor is going to see what the problem is.
“It’s a pity that this has happened because Kevin is an important player for us. But that is why we have a big squad, so everyone can help us.”

City brushed the Swans aside for the second time in a week after their EFL Cup win, thanks to two more goals from Sergio Aguero after he returned from a three-match Premier League ban.
The prolific Argentine has now scored an astonishing 11 goals in just six appearances for City this season - but it is STILL not enough for a ruthless Guardiola.
The Spaniard added: "Congratulations to Sergio for his goals but he knows I want more because he can play better than this.
“He has a lot of goals in his games so far and I am so happy for him, especially for his first goal today and for the personality for the penalty.
“But he can do other things to help us and I will try to help him to develop his abilities as a football player.
“Of course I cannot tell him anything in the box. In the penalty-area he is magnificent as we saw with his first goal, he control, how quickly he makes the first steps and then the definition of his finish.
“But I want him to be more involved in our game, in our process to keep the ball and I want to help him to be a better player.”
