PHIL JONES has been fitted with a leg brace following his latest injury nightmare.

Initial reports suggested he would be on the sidelines for a month.

But he is now facing a longer period of rehabilitation after the brace was fitted to stabilise the joint.

Jones, 24, damaged his ankle in January and has not played a competitive game since then.

The 20-cap England centre-half has been dogged by problems since his £16.5million move to Old Trafford from Blackburn five years ago.

He thought he had a clean bill of health after playing in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial in August. But this latest setback leaves him facing yet another frustrating fitness battle.
