SEVERAL influential MPs have called for disgraced England manager Sam Allardyce to be sacked by the Football Association following his third-party ownership scandal.

ITV News' political correspondent Paul Brand claims to have been in contact with one member of parliament, who claims a host of his colleagues believe the Three Lions chief needs to be removed from his post.

One MP - who is on the Culture, Media and Sport Committee - said: "Sam should be sacked if proved - shows level of greed at the top of football, he is very well paid as England boss and should be full time - is that not enough for him?"

Meanwhile, Brand added: "Of course, MPs don't run English football.

"But political pressure is important when it comes to high-profile appointments like this.

"If parliament turns against Allardyce, that could be a nail in his coffin."

The Sun exclusively revealed this morning that Big Sam feared for his job as England boss after being caught on camera trying to land an illegal £400,000 deal.

FA chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Martin Glenn were holding an emergency meeting at Wembley on Tuesday and are understood to be extremely disturbed by the allegations, according to The Times.

Allardyce, 61, is accused of meeting up with a bogus consortium, who were in fact undercover reporters posing as Far East businessmen who claimed they were interested in bringing overseas players to England.

Big Sam – who is paid £3million a year plus bonuses as England manager – agreed to travel to Singapore and Hong Kong as an ambassador and explained to the 'businessmen' how they could circumvent FA rules which prohibit third parties 'owning' players.

During a series of meetings, Allardyce told the fictitious businessmen that it was 'not a problem' to bypass the rules introduced by his employers in 2008.

He said he knew of certain agents who were 'doing it all the time', adding: “You can still get around it. I mean obviously the big money’s here.”

During the meetings Allardyce also mocked predecessor Roy Hodgson, calling him 'Woy' and saying that he 'hasn’t got the personality' for public speaking.

He also criticised members of the Royal Family - Princes William and Harry - as well as former Three Lions assistant manager Gary Neville.

Update: Sam Allardyce has asked us to make clear that he disputes the allegations.
