Arsenal nice guy Santi Cazorla gets ruthless with his Gunners dream XI with just one current player making the cut
Mesut Ozil was the only current Emirates star to feature with unpopular former players Ashley Cole and Bacary Sagna making the grade
SANTI CAZORLA has named his greatest Arsenal XI with only one of his current team-mates making the cut.
The Spaniard only had room for Mesut Ozil – who produced a fine showing of his undoubted talents in the 3-0 rout of Chelsea on Saturday – in his Gunners dream team.
The midfield maestro had room for a couple of controversial choices that might not impress North London fans.
Emirates Enemy No1 Ashley Cole – still despised at the north London club for forcing his way out after an insulting pay rise offer of £5,000 a-week – secured the left-back spot.
Arsenal icons Kenny Samson and Nigel Winterburn both made way for the full-back who moved on to Chelsea and Roma before moving to America.
Bacary Sagna, who was one of the raft of Arsene Wenger signings to force through a mega-money move to Manchester City after they Abu Dhabi money rolled, in made the grade.
The French defender took his place ahead of a couple of great right-sided defenders that recently graced the team in Lee Dixon and Lauren.
David Seaman, Tony Adams and Sol Campbell make up the rest of the defence with Brazilian defender Gilberto Silva sitting in front of them at the expense of Emmanuel Petit.
Patrick Vieira obviously starts in centre-midfield with Robert Pires cruising down one flank and Ozil drifting around the other.
