He was a regular at the back and scored one of the most important goals of the campaign in the 2-1 win against Rangers in April.

Ange Postecoglou was desperate to keep him at Parkhead and, according to the , the two parties have agreed to personal terms on a deal that will do just that.

It's claimed the defender has his heart set on staying in Glasgow for the upcoming season.

It was reported earlier that Celtic had been given until June 15 to seal the deal and pay £6m to Tottenham for the American international.

That fee could rise to £10m with add-ons, however.

If the two clubs can't co-ordinate before then, Spurs will allow other suitors to move in.

A long list of clubs down south have been quoted as having interest in Carter-Vickers, including Bournemouth, Everton, Fulham, Newcastle and Southampton.

Carter-Vickers was included in the PFA Team of the Year and was on the shortlist for Scottish Football Writers’ Player of the Year but lost out to Hearts and Scotland ace Craig Gordon.

The American featured an impressive 46 times – which is the most he’s featured for any club in his career.

He's impressed his national team boss to earn a recall and faces a busy spell with games against Morocco, Uruguay, Grenada and El Salvador between June 2 and that June 15 deadline.

Fellow loan hero Jota is reportedly close to making his loan switch permanent.

The winger has been exceptional for Postecoglou’s side this season, chipping in with 13 goals and 14 assists.

Hoops fans have been clamouring for months for the club to make it a permanent arrangement.

It’s understood a fee in the region of £6.3m was agreed between Celtic and Benfica at the start of Jota’s loan spell.
