Steven Davis agrees Rangers stay as Ibrox hero puts pen to paper on contract extension
STEVEN DAVIS has signed up to stay at Rangers for one more year.
The 37-year old was nearing the end of his existing deal at Ibrox but he's put pen to paper on a new one-year contract.

Currently on international duty with Northern Ireland, Davis has continued to be play an important role at Ibrox in his second spell.
Initially joining Rangers on loan in January 2008, he subsequently moved to Glasgow permanently the following summer.
In a trophy-laden four and a half year spell, he won three SPL titles, three League Cups and two Scottish Cups, as well as being a key part of the side that reached the UEFA Cup final in 2008.
Having enjoyed a spell as club captain, Davis headed for the Premier League with Southampton in 2012 but returned to Ibrox in January 2019.
He once again became an integral part of things at Ibrox, performing a crucial role as the Light Blues became Scottish champions again in 2020/21.
His impressive showings earned Davis the SFWA's Player of the Year award that season as well as a place in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Season.
Injury hampered a sizeable chunk of the season just gone, but Davis' influence was clear as Rangers reached the Europa League final with the midfielder featuring in a second European final for the club.
He added another Scottish Cup winners medal, too, having started the final victory over Hearts just over a week ago.

Speaking to after signing his new deal, Davis spoke about wanting to kick on again in the season ahead.
He said: "Absolutely delighted. Of course it was a really important season for us last year and obviously to finish on a high with the Scottish Cup was really important for the team and the group.
"We want to try and kick on again next year.
"That experience with getting our hands on the trophy after the disappointment of Seville stands us in good stead for the season ahead, and we'll be hungry for more."
Davis has made over 350 appearances for Rangers, but it isn't just at club level he's found accolades.
With 134 caps for Northern Ireland, he's also the most-capped British player of all time.
Davis is one of a number of Rangers stars with his international team at the moment, with Northern Ireland about to kick-off their new Nations League campaign against Greece on Thursday.
He has followed fellow veteran midfielder Scott Arfield in agreeing to stay at Ibrox for the next season under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Decisions are yet to be finalised regarding the futures of goalkeeper Allan McGregor and defender Connor Goldson.
Davis will re-join his Rangers team mates at the end of June, and he could be linking up with an almost fully-fit Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian talisman has taken to Instagram to update fans on his recovery from a thigh injury that ended his season back in March.

While his Ibrox pals head off on international duty or jet off abroad for some much needed rest, the 25-year old has been back at the gym in the Rangers Training Centre as he aims to get ready for the campaign ahead.
