But a story uploaded to the defender's Instagram pinned his location at the training ground of Premier League side Wolves.

In the post he tagged 38 Services, a luxury chauffeur service.

The travel company has catered for other Premier League stars including Liverpool's Rhys Williams and Brighton's Yves Bissouma.

It's left Rangers fans worrying that one of their star men could be on the way out of Ibrox.

Plenty of sides down south have been linked with the Nigeria international, including former Gers Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa.

Even more bizarrely, Bassey is supposed to be on international duty in Morocco - where his national side kick-off in AFCON qualifying at 2pm today.

And Bassey HAS been named in the team to face Sao Tome & Principe.

Fans are questioning whether the photo was perhaps taken at an earlier date and if so, when and why.

Playing at left-back - the ex-Leicester City kid completed 90 minutes in the win over Sierra Leone on last Thursday.

Leicester is over an hour away from Wolverhampton and Bassey himself grew up in London, so it's unclear if Bassey would have been there for family reasons.

Bassey's Rangers teammate Joe Aribo has been rested for Nigeria's game today.

Leon Balogun, who departed the Ibrox club after the season ended, is also on the bench.

Bassey starts at left-back for the Super Eagles at the Stade Adrar Stadium in Agidir, Morocco.

Bassey and Aribo scooped a double at an awards ceremony last night.

The pair were named among the winners at Nigerian football's annual "Ballers Awards".

the Revelation of the Year trophy while Aribo was named Midfielder of the Year at the event on Saturday night.

That's despite the fact Nigeria didn't qualify for this year's World Cup in Qatar, as they lost to Ghana on away goals in March.
