Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi angrily denies rumours he KO’d Red Bull takeover bid
Reports had suggested the supremo had refused to leave the club to end chances of deal with energy drink giants
NOTTINGHAM FOREST chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has angrily denied claims he KO'd takeover talks by refusing to leave the club.
Greek media outlets were claiming Red Bull pulled out of a potential deal because the supremo ruled out an outright sale.
But Al Hasawi insists while he is keen to stay at the club, he would not stand in the way of a bid if it was "in the best interests" of Forest.
He said: "There have been no offers from any new party of any kind. We have had talks with several parties, none of which have got to a point where an offer has been made.
"There has been no offer made that has been rejected or interest ended because it involved me having to walk away from the club.

"I do want to stay, I do want to be part of the future success of this club. I hope that it can happen.
"But if an offer came in that was absolutely right for the future of this club that involved somebody taking a 100 percent stake, it is not something we would rule out. I would not put Forest at risk.
"But, despite some rumours, that has not happened. There has not been an offer of any kind from any new parties and certainly not one that has been rejected because they wanted me to walk away.
"This is a time for us to be together; a time for us to focus on the future and making Forest a success. Not to be listening to rumours that could hurt this club."
Al Hasawi has been on business in Kuwait in recent weeks but will return to Nottingham this week.
He will talk with boss Philippe Montanier in what is understood to be a routine meeting not crisis talks that threaten the Frenchman's position.
