FULHAM are facing the prospect of losing out on forward Manor Solomon with French club Nice attempting to hijack the deal.

The Israel international has been a long term target for boss Marco Silva and is close to joining the Cottagers from Ukrainian side Shakthar Donetsk.

Silva's side have all but agreed a deal worth around £7million for the 22-year-old but have not yet fully completed.

Sources close to the player believe that all aspects are ready to go on the deal and that they are just awaiting the final seal from Fulham.

As the newly promoted side delay, however, Nice are trying to muscle in.

The Ligue 1 side, owned by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, have offered a bigger fee to Shakthar and a larger wage to Solomon than that on offer from West London.

Nice - who recently appointed former Borussia Dortmund boss Lucien Favre as manager - are pushing hard to convince the winger to snub Craven Cottage and move to France.

Solomon, however, would still prefer a switch to the Premier League but is beginning to consider other options should Fulham continue to delay.

The Cottagers are also close to signing Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha having got in ahead of Premier League rivals Wolves - but are still not over the line on his move from Sporting.

Silva has also lodged a bid for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.

Fulham have submitted an offer which could reach £11m after add-ons and are now waiting on the midfielder to make a decision on his future.

They face competition from South American side Flamgeno, where Pereira has spent the season on loan.
