Cardiff sack boss Paul Trollope after just FIVE months in charge with club lying in relegation zone

CARDIFF CITY boss Paul Trollope has been sacked after just five months in charge.

The Bluebirds have endured a nightmare with Trollope in charge, winning just two games since he took over from Russell Slade in May.

The Bluebirds have confirmed Trollope's departure,  a club statement read: "Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Paul Trollope's contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

"We'd like to thank Paul for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck for the future."

A board meeting was held following another loss at Burton on Saturday.

Assistant Coach Lennie Lawrence and Performance Director Ryland Morgans have also left the Cardiff City Stadium.

Club owner Vincent Tan gave Trollope the opportunity to revive his managerial career following his sacking at Bristol Rovers in 2010.
