Burnley star expected a ticking off from Sean Dyche when he discovered manager's missed calls
MICHAEL KEANE thought he was about to get a rollicking from boss Sean Dyche when he discovered several missed calls from his manager on Monday.
Instead, the Burnley chief was ringing to inform his defender to pack his bags and to go join up with the England squad.
The 23-year-old defender was called up by the Three Lions for the first time on Monday to replace the injured Glen Johnson by Gareth Southgate.
And it came as huge surprise for the former Manchester United man.
Keane said: “I was in the pool at the gym by my house and when I got in the changing-room I had a few missed calls by the gaffer.

“I was thinking, ‘Oh no, what have I done wrong here?’
“I had to call him back and he told me the good news. He was really happy for me.”
Keane, who featured for the Under-21s under Southgate at the European Championships in 2015, added to FATV: “I was really shocked to be honest, it came out of the blue and I didn’t expect it.
“Then I’ve spoken to Gareth and I’m just really happy to be here.
“Obviously it’s a massive honour and it’s a dream for me to be here.”
