Tottenham confirm season-long loan transfer for Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.. paving way for Japhet Tanganga exit
TOTTENHAM have announced the signing of Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan deal.
The Frenchman becomes Spurs' fifth signing this summer following the acquisitions of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.
Antonio Conte made landing the 27-year-old a priority after missing out in his pursuit of Inter Milan ace Alessandro Bastoni.
Lenglet has been allowed to depart the Nou Camp after being deemed as surplus to requirements by boss Xavi.
He featured in just 21 LaLiga games last season, with Gerard Pique, Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo preferred instead.
Though 14 of those outings in the Spanish top-flight came from the bench.

And he has now linked up with Tottenham where he will challenge Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez for a starting spot.
His switch to Spurs isn't believed to include an option to buy, with Bastoni set to be targeted again next year.

His signing could see academy graduate Japhet Tanganga now depart North London.
