WAYNE ROONEY has been spotted overseeing training at DC United ahead of being announced as manager.
The former Derby County boss, 36, is expected to be unveiled as the new boss this week.
And he has not wasted any time in getting straight to work, overseeing training ahead of DC United's match against Columbus Crew on Thursday.
That fixture is set to be Rooney's first match in the dugout at DC United, where he spent two years as a player.
The Manchester United legend has agreed an £800k-a-year deal with the MLS outfit.
But he will not be joined by wife Coleen and his four children after she refused to jet out to the United States again.

Instead, Coleen was spotted heading to a Cheshire gym while her husband got to work.
Coleen sported trainers and slicked her hair into a ponytail - and carried a pre-workout juice.
Rooney flew to the US on Sunday, after Coleen, 36, had laid bare the tensions in their marriage and how she was so homesick living in America that she often cried herself to sleep.
But Coleen is believed to be supportive of her husband's move, which may be a less stressful affair than his previous job at Derby.

Phil Neville believes Wazza was thrown in at the deep end at Pride Park and is predicting an easier time for his former team-mate in the US capital.
He told SunSport: “I think in his managerial career so far, Wayne was thrown in at the deep end in Derby.
“They had no money, they had takeover problems, they had points deductions and he nearly performed a miracle.
“So in a way this job might be slightly easier because he’ll be working under better conditions. There is no relegation like there is in England.”
