EDINSON CAVANI is in surprise talks with Serie A club Monza - after reportedly trying to land a LaLiga move.
The Uruguay striker, 35, needs regular football to boost his World Cup hopes following his release by Manchester United last month.
And say Monza director Adriano Galliani is keen on Cavani's experience for their first season back in the top-flight.
Salernitana, who finished fourth bottom in Serie A last term, have also come in for Paris Saint-Germain's record scorer.
Their club president believes Cavani would be a "dream signing".
He netted just twice for United as a fringe player in his injury-hit 2021-22 campaign, following 17 goals the previous season.
