LEONARDO BONUCCI snubbed a Premier League move last summer because of his son’s poor health, according to reports.

The Juventus ace was linked with a number of top English sides, notably Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

A move abroad failed to materialise for Bonucci, who confessed his curiosity was piqued before opting to stay in Turin.

And Spanish newspaper claims the main reason behind Bonucci’s Premier League snub was his son, Matteo.

The two-year-old has apparently been suffering from a number of health problems in recent months and even had to undergo surgery.

A move away from Italy would have been too much of a strain on the youngster, and the report adds Bonucci never once contemplated a Juve exit because of it.

However, fresh reports believe Chelsea will go in for Bonucci again this January after a shaky start to the season.

Antonio Conte’s men suffered heavy defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, with Gary Cahill looking particularly vulnerable at the back.

It’s claimed the Italian boss wants a reunion with Bonucci after managing him at Juve, and is willing to spend an incredible £60million for his signature in January – a world record figure for a defender.
