AARON RAMSEY's post-Rangers future appears to be no closer to reaching a conclusion, though it seems destined he will leave Juventus.

The Wales star, 31, returned to Juve for pre-season training last week amid reports of a huge deal being agreed to allow him to walk.

However, despite both sides clearly wanting to go their separate ways, Ramsey remains a Juve player and the club are yet to get him off their books.

That's despite the fact he was omitted from the list of squad numbers released by the Serie A side and Ramsey himself pushing hard to find an exit route.

He was also left out of their pre-season tour squad as they jetted out to the USA without him.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Ramsey is firmly out of boss Massimiliano Allegri's plans for the season but negotiations are still not completed.

He tweeted: "Juventus are discussing with Aaron Ramsey to terminate the current contract. Negotiations ongoing to reach an agreement in order to part ways, still not completed.

"#transfers Ramsey, out of Allegri’s plans for this season."

Juve fans played a cruel prank on Ramsey as they duped him into signing a 'contract termination' when he returned to training last week.

Potential moves away have fallen through including to Galatasaray and Fatih Karagümrük in Turkey, while the midfielder was also reportedly offered to AC Monza, the newest team to enter Serie A and who are owned by former Italian Prime Minister and AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi.

Ramsey has also been heavily linked with a move back home to his first club Cardiff this summer.

He helped lead his nation to the World Cup last month after experiencing both agony and ecstasy during his six-month loan stint with Rangers.

Ramsey missed the crucial penalty in the Europa League Final that eventually saw Eintracht Frankfurt lift the trophy.

But he also got his hands on a Scottish Cup winner's medal as the Gers defeated Hearts in the final at Hampden.

Meanwhile, a former Rangers youth star has began his post-Ibrox career by signing for an EFL club.
