ALLEN FEARS

Joe Allen injury: Wales midfield ace set for scan on his hamstring after coming off injured in Dragons’ 2-2 draw with Austria

JOE ALLEN faces a scan after coming off with a hamstring injury in Wales' 2-2 draw with Austria.

The Stoke midfielder helped earn Chris Coleman's team a point in Vienna with a supreme strike but is now a major doubt for Saturday's home clash with Georgia.

Dragons boss Chris Coleman has confirmed that Allen will now undergo tests before making a call on the ex-Liverpool man's fitness.

It could mean that, with Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey still sidelined, the Dragons are missing their two main midfield men for the Georgia game.

And Stoke boss Mark Hughes now faces a nervous wait to see if Allen will be fit for the Potters' basement battle with Sunderland.

Coleman said: "We could have gambled and kept him on, but we don't want to do that.

"He'll be assessed over the next 24-48 hours and it's how he reacts, but if we see anything on the scan we won't gamble.

"He is Stoke's player and we have to respect that.

"We probably won't have Joe (against Georgia) and we already don't have Rambo, but that's how it is.

"Have we got enough without them? Yes, we have, so we won't be making excuses."
