Tottenham ‘launch bid for Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo with Jose Mourinho open to £42.5m transfer after Paulo Dybala arrival’

Tottenham are reportedly set to launch a big-money move for Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.

Spurs' former boss Jose Mourinho could be open to the transfer after Roma's sensational free signing of Paulo Dybala.

report that Tottenham are set to challenge Conte's former club Juventus in the fight for Zaniolo.

They say that Dybala's transfer leaves Roma more open to letting the talented Italian go if the right money comes in.

The versatile attacker was a regular under Mourinho last season as his Roma team triumphed in the inaugural Europa Conference League, with Zaniolo scoring the winner against Feyenoord.

But the arrival of bigger names could leave his place in the team in flux.

Juventus are keen on Zaniolo, 23, and could attempt an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy to avoid splashing the cash this summer.

But the Old Lady may well have the cash available after making £68m on the sale of Matthijs de Ligt.

They will be hopeful of landing Zaniolo especially with reports suggesting he supported Juventus as a child.

Spurs' sporting director Fabio Paratici will attempt to sway him to North London and has reportedly made contact with Roma already.

Conte has not been shy in boosting a Tottenham attack which for years has been reliant on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

In January Spurs signed Juventus star Dejan Kulusevski in an initial loan deal and he helped hoist the club into the Champions League spaces in the second half of the season.

And this summer they went further and recruited Brazilian star Richarlison from Everton for £60m.
