Dortmund search for Haller replacement as club confirm he is out for ‘a few months’ after testicular tumour diagnosis
BORUSSIA DORTMUND are searching for a short-term replacement for Sebastien Haller as he begins treatment for a testicular tumour.
The 28-year-old former West Ham striker joined the Bundesliga giants from Ajax for £27million earlier this summer.
But during training last Monday he complained about feeling unwell, before examinations showed a tumour.
Haller shared a picture from his hospital bed three days later as he confirmed the first step of his treatment had been completed.
But, understandably, Dortmund have now revealed that the Ivory Coast international will be sidelined for a while.
Speaking about the situation, the club's sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: "Sebastien was operated on last week.

"We asked for patience at the time. The therapy is currently being discussed.
"Sebastien will be out for a few months but once we can be more precise about that we will communicate it."
As a result, Dortmund are instantly looking for a short-term fix while Haller continues his recovery.
And are reporting that Marcus Thuram and Anthony Modeste have been identified as potential targets.

Thuram, 24, has scored 28 goals in 102 appearances for fellow German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.
And Modeste, 34, has netted an impressive 34 times in 83 games for Cologne.
However, understand that Paris Saint-Germain star Mauro Icardi is NOT on their radar.
The Argentine is on the transfer market, but Dortmund are not thought to be interested.
