Arsenal transfer news: Julian Draxler ‘definitely leaving Wolfsburg’ and could be heading to Premier League

German playmaker was subject of bid from Gunners last summer and was also chased by Everton, Juventus and PSG

Arsenal have bid £43m for Julian Draxler

ARSENAL and Everton target Julian Draxler will ‘definitely leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season’, according to his agent.

The German playmaker was strongly linked with a Premier League switch over the summer, with Arsenal reportedly making a £43million bid during Euro 2016.

Everton tried chasing a deal in August with their new-found riches, while there was an offer on the table from Paris Saint-Germain.

Juventus also attempted to sign Draxler as Paul Pogba edged towards his world-record Manchester United move, and all four could be set to battle it out again following agent Fabio Parisi’s latest comments.

He said: “Max Allegri had spoken to Draxler, they were in sync and there was an immediate rapport between them.

Wolfsburg have strong owners, but unfortunately for the German fans, everyone wants to leave there. Over the summer Draxler was on the verge of joining PSG, who had offered nearly £59m.

“He will definitely leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season. He would’ve gladly run to join Juve and is the ideal trequartista for Allegri.

“I repeat: Draxler will leave, but whether or not Juventus are interested again is another matter.”

Draxler is clearly unsettled at Wolfsburg after joining as a £25m replacement for Manchester City-bound Kevin De Bruyne last year, registering zero goals and zero assists so far this season.

And the Germans are feeling the full effect of his complacency, suffering two consecutive league defeats in September – including a heavy 5-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund – as they search for their first win of the new campaign since opening day.
