Liverpool transfer news: Reds and Everton shape up for £6million Mersey battle over French star Soualiho Meite

FRENCH midfielder Soualiho Meite is the subject of a Merseyside tug-of-war as Liverpool and Everton battle it out for his signature.

The Under-20 international is wanted by both clubs in a £6million deal.

Meite is currently on loan at Belgian side Zulte-Waregem from French Ligue 1 club Lille.

The central midfielder also has a number of other clubs interested in snapping him up.

Fellow Premier League side West Ham have also been monitoring his performances.
