DJIBRIL SIDIBE revealed why he turned down the chance to join Arsenal — but left the door open for a move next season.
But fears over a lack of playing time meant Sidibe turned down a move to the Emirates but is keen to play in the Premier League next year.
"I was on the brink [of signing for Monaco] and [Arsenal] gave me a headache by making a bid at the last moment.
“Normally, you would jump at the opportunity but, after reflection, there were no guarantees over my playing time.
“I could have played 25 matches a season with rotations and they were going to play me on the left and I wanted to play on the right.

“I would, therefore, prefer to stay in Ligue 1 to get more opportunities and leave for the Premier League next year because it is a league with attracts me a lot.”
Sidibe has started five of Monaco's eight domestic league matches and scored against his former club Lile in Monaco's 4-1 win.
He has also featured five times in the Champions League since sealing his move to the Stade Louis II.
