Manchester United transfer news: Valencia’s Fran Villalba linked to Man Utd just 10 months after Gary Neville gave the striker his La Liga debut
The Spanish striker was blooded by the ex-Utd defender and is now admired by Jose Mourinho, according to Spanish reports
MANCHESTER UNITED are checking out Valencia starlet Fran Villalba.
The Spanish striker, 18, is seen by Old Trafford chiefs as a "safe bet for the future," according to .
The claim Villalba is keen to stay at Valencia if he can start more regularly this season.
And he was only given his La Liga debut by Old Trafford legend and then-Valencia boss Gary Neville on December 31 last year.
But Villalba has a release clause in his contract with a buy-out fee of four million Euros.
And United want to recruit more youthful talent.
Villalba will also surely be aware how fellow 18-year-old Marcus Rashford has shot up the pecking order at United.
Rashford has even ousted England captain Wayne Rooney from the starting line-up at Old Trafford.
And many pundits think the United academy product should already be a first-choice frontman for the Three Lions, rather than just a squad player.
