FORMER Colombian international Diego Osorio was arrested at Jose Maria Cordova airport in Rionegro on Thursday after allegedly trying to smuggle a stash of cocaine thought to be worth around €45,000.

Osorio, who spent the majority of his playing days at Medellin's Atletico Nacional, was heading home to Madrid when he was stopped by police.

Police alleged that the drugs, weighing 1.145kg, were hidden in his boxer shorts.

The Colombian reportedly told them he had agreed to the smuggling mission in order to pay off outstanding debts.

But this isn't the only time Osario has been caught up in a drugs scandal.

Back in 2002 he was arrested in Miami on charges of cocaine possession and trafficking.

Osario was capped 17-times for Colombia from 1991-1995.
